‘Mountain Bike Trails’

The Dikwiel at Deelfontein MTB Race 2012 will be held at Deelfontein farm located on the southern side of the Vaal River near Parys in the Free State, only about 140km from Johannesburg. The Mountain Bike Trail in the Vredefort Dome Bergland is graded from easy to highly technical, with mountainous bushveld and grassveld.

Facilities at Deelfontein include Accommodation (two guest houses and a bush camp), Ablution Facilities, Barbeque Facilities and a Swimming Pool.

• Event Date & Start Time – Wednesday, 21 Mar 2012, at 09h00.
• Venue – Deelfontein (Vredefort Dome Bergland), Free State.
• Online Start Date – 29 Feb 2012
• Online End Date – 19 Mar 2012
• Registration – Late Booking on the day of the race from 7h30 to 8h30, late booking fee R30.
• Distance & Entry Fee – 40km, R120; 20km, R80; 10km, R50.
• Routes – 40km with 9km gravel road, 18km jeep track, 13km single track (technical); 20km with 9km gravel road, 8km jeep track, 3km single track; 10km with 6km jeep track, 4km single track.
• Medals for everyone who finishes.
• Prizes for the winners.
• Minimum of 8 entrants in each category for prize to be allocated.
