CYCLE TOUR 2012: Entries open on 1 September 2011!
Seeding for 2012: Participate in our seeding events this year for the chance to improve your seeding index (and start time) for the 2012 Cycle Tour!
The purpose of seeding is to compare results from different events to determine the relative ability of all cyclists. This information is then used to place Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour participants into their respective start groups and allow them to cycle with others of the same ability, which reduces overtaking and makes the event safer and more enjoyable for everyone. In addition, participating in one of our seeding events could potentially earn you an earlier start at the Cycle Tour.
How it works: If you participate in any of our official seeding events, we calculate your index by taking into consideration:
- The distance and degree of difficulty of the course
- The size of the field and
- Conditions on the day
- Combined with your race result in relation to the winner’s time
Competition Question:
