Bicycle Maintenance Company is situated in Woodstock, Cape Town. BMC was opened in 2004 after our research indicated dissatisfaction amongst clients with the quality of after sale services available locally in the bicycle industry. Bring us your latest, lightest, greatest, next-best-thing, carbon, titanium beast from outer technological hyper space and see us do what we do best. We also build-up from scratch and do conversions to FIXED GEAR and SINGLE SPEED bicycles, collecting old, classic frames and vintage spares to go with them. We repair, modify, restore all mountain and road bikes and most other things with wheels and without engines… Road, mountain, hybrid, recumbent bicycles of all shapes, sizes and in any condition maintained, modified, restored, upgraded, customised, spray painted.

Some of our services:

Wash frame & wheels, degrease chain, cassette and crank, wheel truing, gear, brake, headset, bottom bracket, hub adjustments, bolt torque, lube and/or replace cables.
BMC special. For races such as the Sani2C and Imana we offer a post and pre water damage control service with Marine grease to prevent or repair possible damage sea water can do to your bike when it gets into places where it shouldn’t be like hubs and bottom brackets. Restorations – Old or damaged bikes in need of some love come to us to be slowly pieced back together with great care and patience. Wheel truing/building (also specialising in powertap wheel builds). Bike building – strip and rebuild, complete build up of new frame & parts. Custom building – bikes modified for those with prostheses/back problems/disabilities. Upgrades – for when you want something a bit nicer on your steed

    Dear BMC,

I have an old Bianchi Titanium that developed a crack on the seat tube near the front derailleur. I had it welded by a local guy but a. the welding looks like a leper doubled up on his bandages after stepping in chicken poo and this will need a bit of neatening up and b. the whole bike needs a re-spray and new decals etc. Front forks are steel and have rust spots. I live in PE but am bringing the bike to CT for the Argus. If I can get it to you after the race, is this a job you guys could tackle?

And where the hell is Salt River!?

  3. Louis Berner says:

    Dear BMC

I am looking for a builder of bicycles, for the business we are expanding from Free State, that can supply us. Would you guys be able to assist?

    Kind regards

    Louis Berner
